Being a tourist in MANAGUA does require some resolve,
but there are things to enjoy and do. Several of Managua's
attractions are located near the Plaza de la República,
including the municipal cathedral, which has been renovated.
Near the cathedral is the impressively restored Palacio
Nacional, which exhibits two very large paintings
of Augusto Sandino and Carlos Fonseca at the entrance.
The Huellas de Acahualinca museum exhibits the
ancient footprints of exiting toward the lake from a volcanic
eruption. The Museo de la Revolución has
fine historical exhibits.
